I was very lucky to spend a few weeks there last fall, roadtripping our way from one coast to another. It was the most spectacular, ethereal place I've had the pleasure to visit, and filled with incredibly hospitable, kind, lovely people. The weather was warm, the sun shined and kissed your skin, the air was filled with only the humming of nature, the food was straight from local gardens and farms.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt was, what I believe to be, the closest to Heaven you can get on earth. I wanted to keep true to my marsh scenes and incorporate the colors I was inspired by, especially in Puglia, where the desert met the sea. The plants were otherworldly, and often existed in these cool greens. The deeper blue-green in the paintings is representative of the ocean there.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis body of work represents peace through uneasiness and collective grief.
