Painted/named from a poem I wrote.
This is my first palette knife painting, and a "love letter" of sorts to a place that will always feel like home to me- Scotland. I chose to create this thistle because it is the universal symbol of their nation, symbolizing strength and perseverance. How lovely!
I searched for hours to find a poem that would capture what I wanted this painting to say, but came up empty-handed, so I wrote my own. It's a symbol of not only strength, but how our strength- whether intention or not- can positively impact people we may never even meet.
Oil on custom hardboard, framed in a very early 1900s frame of Scottish origin, with a gorgeous thistle motif. The frame features original, time-won character, adding to the overall charm of this piece. This scene was created specifically for this frame.
Painting is 22" x 27".
Frame is 33.5" x 28.25".
All originals and prints come with the poem they’re named/painted from, in case you’d like to frame and hang it next to the art.
