“Hands Meet” Antique Framed Oil Painting - 25.5” x 21.75”

I painted this scene with a lone island and the light shining strongly above it to recreate the feeling of loneliness during times when you feel like no one you love can understand what you’re going through. The sun’s strong beams reaching out represent open arms of reassurance, even if they can’t fully grasp your struggles. I chose to paint the scene from my head into this oval frame where it quite literally and symbolically softens hard edges.

Oil on canvas board, framed in a late 1800s frame. The frame features original, time-won character, adding to the overall charm of this piece. This oval scene was created specifically for this frame.

Painting size is 19.5” x 15.5”.

Frame size is 25.5” x 21.75”.

Please note that we are about to leave for Italy for a few weeks, where we’ll be teaching painting. As such, all artwork orders that are to be shipped will begin shipping out the first week of October. Customers that choose “local pickup” at checkout will be emailed in regards to pickup. If not picked up before we leave for Italy, said customers will be emailed again upon our return to schedule a pickup at the end of Sept or early Oct.

Pricing

Chosen prices are a direct correlation of time spent creating. Some paintings take 10 hours and some take several months of 60+ hours of work plus dry times between layers. The value, rarity and ornateness of each frame (or lack thereof) is also taken into account.
