The Inspiration
Painted/named from a poem by I wrote.
I wanted this painting to feel like a memory in an old photograph, with the addition of the darkened vignette edges and grainy texture. It symbolizes life in simpler times, and living life on purpose (a lesson I personally need as of late.) This was a gorgeous sunset I tried to photograph near my home, and frustrated, I finally put down my phone when the picture wouldn't turn out. It was then that I realized just how much color and light I had missed by trying to capture it instead of experiencing it.
I hope this painting invites you to slow down and live in the moment.
