Painted/named from a poem I wrote.
I created this scene to portray chronic illness and the depression it can bring about, as you likely don't have one without the other. I searched for a poem for hours to portray what I wanted this painting to say, but decided it was best if I attempted to put my own words to it. After all, I know this feeling all too well: feeling like a failure in society when others are busy making lives and I'm unmaking my bed to rest my weary body. I know many of my collectors know the guilt and shame that comes with having a chronic illness. I hope this painting, one I created to remind myself that dreams are never dead, they're just hibernating until the sun comes out for us once more.
Oil on deep canvas. Larger at 24" x 30". Unframed, ready to hang with painted sides.
All originals and prints come with the poem they’re named/painted from, in case you’d like to frame and hang it next to the art.
