"The Story You Will Tell" Limited Edition Fine Art Print

Painted/named from a poem by Morgan Harper Nichols.

This particular painting is of a Brown Pelican that took refuge in my yard a few weeks back, and one that I worked with avian conservatory volunteers to try and save. I spent hours alongside him, speaking to him gently while awaiting rescue. Though he could still fly, he didn't leave my side. In the end, he didn't make it through the night. I felt honored he spent his last few hours of life beside me, trusting me not to hurt him. The volunteers worked hard to save him, and one even risked his life and limb after Charlie flew into a known alligator-infested pond once they arrived. He was safely captured and spent his night in warm blankets before passing in his sleep.

Charlie, and the selfless volunteers, reminded me how precious every single life is, and how important it is to look out for those who may not be able to look out for themselves, or to ever thank you. Exhibiting love for a creature that cannot show gratitude is the purest form of empathy.

I hope this painting reminds you there are still good, kind people out there, even now.

-Printed in the USA using the highest museum quality thick, archival, lightly textured fine art paper.

-To ensure no part of the painting is cut off, sizes will not be standard framing sizes, and will instead be sized upon the exact ratio of the original.

-The size choice is the print size. Each has an additional 1/2 inch border allowance for the perfect matting.

-Colors and exposure may vary from monitor to monitor. These prints have been tested and edited and reprinted numerous times each to get the exact coloring, from screen to physical item. Please know that each print will align as closely to the original painting as we could physically manage, no matter the difference in monitors.

OPTIONAL MATTING

To save time (and money), you can choose to have your print matted before delivery. Our mat windows are completely custom-sized for each print, and the outer frame dimensions are cut for a standard frame size. This means that you will not need to have your print professionally framed if you don't want to! You can absolutely do it yourself by purchasing any standard sized frame with the dimensions given. These frames are commercially available at most home goods stores, pre-made at frame shops and found readily available in numerous online shops.

Prints are made to order and take 2-3 weeks to ship. The lead time is slightly longer during the holidays or during high order volume (annual releases.)
